Liveblogging - Thursday, August 16th, 2007
-:35 - Gettin' things started for tonight's liveblogging. Just finished having a nice laugh at this clip from Season 3. Ahhhh, the memories. And don't be afraid to jump into the chat room over there and talk with other crazy BB fans. It's gonna be a great show tonight folks. I'm ready!
:00 - Previously on Big Brother 8....
:03 - Julie looks absolutely smashing as usual in an off the shoulder top and taupe pants. Evel Dick unleashed his fury on the house to make himself a bigger target and then used the POV on his daughter to save her. Dustin is confident that he safe and wants to rub it in Dick's face. In just a few minutes, the houseguests vote live. But first...
:04 - Footage of POV ceremony and Dick not using the POV. Jessica replaces Daniele with Dustin. Dick laughed. Ceremony is adjourned.
:05 - Dick in DR says he's thrilled to be up on the block against Dustin and thinks he (Dick) is probably going home. Dustin in DR says it's a shame that Daniele was taken off the block because he wanted to see Dick lose it (faking Dick crying about losing his daughter again). Daniele says in DR that it means more than probably would ever know.
:06 - Dustin and Jess hug in HOH room. Dustin says he knew it was going to come down to this and worst case scenario will come down to a 3-3 vote and Jess says she'd vote for Dick to go. Dustin in DR says that "bitch got nothing" concerning Daniele. Jessica in DR says that Dick is high on her radar now. Jess thanks Dustin in HOH for volunteering.
:07 - Eric talking to Jess in HOH wanting to apologize for what happened that morning (when he wasn't talking to her). He says he was profusely sweating and sick. Jess in DR says that she really wanted Eric's opinion for the POV ceremony but he was so sick she wasn't able to talk to him and that her and Eric have buried the hatchet and she trusts him 100%. Jess tells Eric in HOH that she's not mad at him anymore.
:08 - Zach's having a date with Jessica in the backyard. Zach in DR says it's to discuss possible strategy. They're talking about the voting concerning Dick or Dustin. Jess says she'll listen to everybody. Zach says it could be a good diversion to keep Dick in the game. Zach gives Jessica her word to vote Dick out and Zach in DR says he meant it and says that he would change it if Jess wanted.
:10 - Eric finds out who he's targeting for eviction this week. He hopes it's for Dick. He finds out it's Dustin. Not a shocker. It was what he was expecting and that's it.
:10 - Eric talking to Jess in HOH bed. Eric brings up Dustin. Jessica removes her shirt and CBS puts in bow-chicka-bow-bow music and Eric gets distracted by her boobs. Talking about Dustin vs Dick. Jessica asks if he's hot. Eric says no. Back to game talk. Jessica yawns while Eric's talking. Jessica says she wouldn't have to put Dick up because she could just get Eric to do it. Says she's tired now and tells him to leave. (LOL)
:12 - Dick and Eric talking in backyard. Dick in DR says that Eric is logical and a gameplayer and knows that only him and Jessica will be the ones to keep him in the house. Dick asks Eric to talk to Jessica. Eric says that anything he does Jessica will be with him. Dick says the same thing about Daniele.
:13 - Eric and Jessica talking late at night in backyard. He tells her he thinks they should get rid of Dustin and she asks why. Eric says because he started thinking today that he's letting the game play him. Maybe it's time for the real ? to step up and Dustin rubs people the wrong place and that he has things in place that she's not a part of. He brings up how Jameka can't play for 4 more HOH comps and Amber isn't strong. Says they could team with a strong alliance and that there may be honor among thieves.
:14 - Julie says we'll find out what Joe thinks of how Dustin is playing the game when we come back. Also live voting coming up. Commercial.
:18 - We're back. Time to go live to the living room. Hey everyone. Dick, you won the POV and used it to save yourself (oops) or rather your daughter and how have things changed between the two of you. He says in week 2 he didn't have to worry about it because she saved herself but this week he was going to do what he had to do. JC asks if Dani would have done the same for her dad. She says she's lucky she wasn't put in that situation and she'd like to say that she would (doesn't answer question). Jen happy and thankful that she got the slop pass from Dick. Amber, I know it's hard to be away from your 5-year-old daughter (?). Amber starts crying and says she really misses her and that's why she has that necklace around her neck and hope she starts third grade well.
:20 - Joe segment concerning Dustin. Joe says it's very entertaining watching the downward spiral called Dustin on television. Watching how he's so self-involved. Footage of Dustin taking the prizes in that POV contest. Joe says it's obvious that Dustin's only there for himself. As the screws get tightened in the house that Dustin will say what he wants to say when he wants to say it. Says Dustin's been very condescending and arrogant in the house. Footage of Dustin wanting to be put up against Dick in the hot tub. Joe is excited that Dustin's still there so that people will see that he (Joe) is right.
:22 - JC says that coming up is the live vote. Also ahead, some very unusual visitors dropped by the house this week and they'll play an important role in tonight's live HOH competition.
:23 - Amber in DR says she knows that she wants Dick out of there. Dani wants to keep her dad in the game and can trust him over everybody. Zach says that Dick is a huge instigator in the game and that he picks people apart in a way in which he thinks is completely is unsanitary in the game to be honest. It sucks that he's going up against Dustin because Dustin needs to go as well. It's a hard tossup. Jen in DR says that Dustin and Dick are her options and it's finally a win/win for her when the last weeks have been lose/lose for her so she's excited she can finally vote somebody out that she wants to. Eric says that his initial take on the matter was to send Dick home because he's a big threat in the house but after he got his directive from America he knew it was time to up the ante and make a big move in the house and go after Dustin in a big way. Jameka wants to see Dick out of the house because they feel uncomfortable by his presence, he's mean-spirited by nature and wants to see the back of his head and that BB bag leaving out of the front door. Commercial.
:27 - Time to talk to Jess in HOH room. JC asks Jessica about being in the DR in tears before the POV ceremony. She said that it was because Jen came up to her about a secret alliance between Dustin with Dick/Dani and that was the reason Dustin said he wouldn't go up against Daniele. Felt upset that she had no idea what to do. She trusts Eric and Jameka the most in the Late Nite Crew because they've been the most honest to her. Jessica says she has a great time with Eric every day and that who knows there may be something outside of the house (with Eric) but it will have to wait until after the game.
:30 - Tonight's evicted houseguest will be the first member of the jury of 7. Dustin says that it's been fun getting to know everybody and hopes they make the decision to make the next 6 weeks even more fun that the first 6 weeks. Dick says they'll do what they have to do and he only wishes that Carol was there to give him a deep wet kiss upon leaving.
:30 - Amber votes to evict Dick. Eric votes with America in voting to evict Dustin. Eric says that America's choice was a great one and was hesitant at first but now he likes it and they've turned the house upside down. Jameka votes to evict Dick. Daniele votes to evict Dustin. The votes are tied right now. Zach and Jen still have to vote but as we know they've both been playing both sides. Live voting continues when we come back. Commercial.
:35 - Julie welcomes us back. Thanks Julie! Live voting continues. Zach votes to evict Dustin.
:36 - Jen votes to evict Dustin.
:36 - By a vote of 4-2, Dustin you are evicted. Dustin is shocked and says 'interesting' under his breath. Amber cries a little and then pulls it together amazingly. Dustin hugging LNC members. Dustin hugs Amber again and then walks out the door saying Bye. Kinda cold. Everybody standing around now. Dustin walks out the door to Julie and meets Julie.
:37 - Back in the house, Amber is trying to pull it together. Looks like her and Jameka go off to the bathroom to talk. Amber in the potty crying and Jameka knocks on the door.
:38 - Dustin says he's so stunned right now. Says he thinks that Eric was the scheisty vote and was the 4th vote against him. Jam/Amber kept their word and Zach and Jen did not. He says yes & no he regrets volunteering himself and that he put his faith in people and that he was wrong. Julie repeats a quote of his back to him. He says there's always that risk and it was a bad move on his behalf. JC asks him about him and Amber and he says that Amber's a very emotional person but that doing it in front of everybody isn't always good to do so. He says he was her best friend in the house. Dustin says that he knows Joe's ecstatic right now but says he made it farther than him. LOL
:41 - Dick says if he's seeing this that he pulled off the biggest coup in the house. Jameka says that there must be some shady people in the group. Jen says it was fun tanning together. Eric tells him thanks and that it means he'll be joining him soon in the sequester house. Dani says it was good getting to know him in the house. Zach says that his arrogance is a huge negative quality in the game. Jessica says she had fun with him and brought up how they were part of the twist. Amber crying says she loves him so much like he has no idea.
:42 - JC tells Dustin that he's the first member of the jury and will see him back on September 18th. Mentions how he'll be on House Calls tomorrow. Coming up is the HOH competition.
:43 - Shot of the others in BY standing in their booths. Will be a True/False thing. Commercial.
:46 - Welcome back. Yesterday the HGs found themselves down the rabbit hole and found some unusual characters in the house and that they hold the answers to this week's questions for the HOH competition.
:47 - Footage of the visitors in the house. First, the Mad Hatter. Dani thought it was some sort of clue about him saying phrases over and over again. Fish and visitors stink after three days. Stitch in time saves nine.
:47 - Going out into the backyard where there's a barbershop quartet and a pirate in stilts. Alliances break up... Always drink upstream from the herd. Back inside there are rabbits on the table with an ace, a five, and a nine on their necks. Now the statue that is moving and making poses.
:48 - Power up for grabs. Jessica and Jameka are not eligible to participate. Tonight's competition is called 'Strange Visitors'. Series of true/false questions about the characters they met yesterday. Last person standing will be new HOH.
:49 - Jen is out by answering true (she messed up) and the rest are right. 2nd question the answer is true and Zach and Dick have been eliminated. 3rd question the answer is true and Eric has been eliminated. Between Daniele and Amber now. 4th question the answer is false and Amber is eliminated and Daniele is the new HOH!
:51 - Daniele wins the next HOH and hugs Dick. Everybody else kinda in silence. Dani hugs everybody. Jen says something about how she messed up. They're talking now. Not too much celebrating. Dick must have cussed because there was silence....LOL.... Going to commercial now.
:55 - JC welcomes us back. Time for us to get involved. Who do you want Eric out of the house? Tell Eric who you want nominated by voting here. (Let's think about this before we vote peeps.)
:56 - JC congratulates Dani on winning HOH and then tells Dick that it's amazing he's still in the house. Amber (crying of course) says it's going to be awkward and empty in the house with Dustin but that everything happens for a reason and (gets cut off by Julie).
:56 - JC tells us about the upcoming shows. Says Sundays show will include nomination ceremony and Tuesday will be POV and Thursday's show will be another live eviction. No mention of a double eviction. Hmmmm.
:57 - She leaves us to eavesdrop on the hamsters. Eric and Jessica talking and smiling and hugging. Amber getting something out of the fridge. Jameka studying memory wall.
:58 - End of show!
Well folks. What did you think of tonight's show? And it doesn't seem to be a double eviction this week. Poor Dustin may be alone longer in the sequester house than is usually the case because if it was a double eviction they would have definitely mentioned it. Who do you think America should vote for Eric to try to get nominated? Your thoughts?
Updated at 6:13 PM - I've decided that I'm going to vote my 10 times for Eric to try to get Jameka nominated. If y'all don't want to vote for Jameka, I recommend Amber as a backup. LOL

I have to tell you HD, while I don't like Dick it was a smarter plan to get rid of Dustin. Dick is a fantastic ally and Dustin was dumb to volunteer himself.
I'm totally in this for Jessica or Zach to win. ;) Or Jen, too. Because they're all playing this game very well.

Last week - Kail found out about AP on The Early Show with Julie the next day. She's on with the evicted houseguest usually between 8 - 8:30.

They aren't going to reveal the America's Player to anyone now since they are all going into sequester. That's my guess.
I was afraid that Dick might be evicted but it worked perfectly and the look on Dustin's face was PRICELESS. I almost fell out of my chair laughing my ass off. Very surprised that Amber held herself together for the most part.
Glad to see Eric use the AP votes to his advantage so now he's not the huge target of the fishy votes. There was nothing fishy about the votes tonight.

Can we take it easy on Eric this week and ask for him to get Amber nominated? Pretty please?
I LOVED the expression on Dustin's face. It was almost worth Dick still being in the house. Amber held it together pretty well, almost winning HOH. We'll see how long Daniele keeps her word to Eric and Jessica; I hope it's longer than she kept her word to Kail!

This was the best episode of Big Brother ever!! It seemed like Jameka knew something was amiss when she voted - and she couldn't do anything about it because the realization came far too late!!! She is useless to anyone in the game - her dumbest move was giving up four head of households and she is going to be gone soon because of it. Amber did great but she needs to pay for her anti-Semitic comments. Time for "Little Miss. Hitler" to start packing her bags. Vote for Amber!!!

I want to vote for Whamber to be nominated...it will be worthless to get Jameka out at this point because she's not eligible to play in the HOH...however, I would like to see her sitting next to Whamber in the hot seat and if one of them comes off...well, I'd like to see Jen go up and out. She's really the only true competition that I see that could hurt the JEDD alliance now.
So poor Whameka can sweat it out this week...that'll be sweet. I am so happy for ED. He has truly brought this game to a new level...some say good some say bad...but think HOW BORING it would have been this season w/out him there!!!!

PS I don't think that they'll reveal the AP to jury members incase he makes it to the final 2, that would definitely put Eric at a big disadvantage.

well it didn't go the way i wanted it to. What can i say might as well hand the money over to dick and dani right now because they are gunna be the final 2. They are playing as one and no one can beat a 2 party team. I am really disappointed in bb8 this year. I'm also sad to see dick and dani just given the game. But its a game, a really screwedup game, but i will give it a chance. oh well i do feel sad for eric and jess, throwing the other members of the old alliance under the bus. I just done know. well off to work i go. good luck to all.

It's def. time for Amber to go home. and then Zach. Jameka and Dick are going to be the only entertaining thing left when the house is down to like 3 people, so she needs to stay. I actually want to see her Eric and E.D. as the final 3... that would be great as far as I'm concerned.

Dick is playing a different game than everyone else...and although he is abrasive, his bullying tactic is working to his advantage. His comments are rude, but it is shattering their confidence. This is a game. It's not personal. It's no worse than Dr. Will lying his way through two seasons!
Get rid of Amber...and then Jameka. Let Jess, Eric, Dick and Dani battle it out as final four. Those who just sit around and survive due the mercy of others are worthless.

I also hope that Dani/Dick keep their word with Jessica and Eric. Also, before the feeds shut off this evening, D&D were talking to each other about Jen, and the conversation wasn't good. I don't think D&D understood what Jen did for them. Jen really helped D&D this week by planting real and fake doubt seeds in the LNC. Jen should not be a target this week.

Excellent show, although I was hoping for more interesting questions from the visitors... think they will still use that later for something? So much info and very few questions needed.

Is it just me or was Dustin reference to Eric being "scheisty" a tad on the antisemitic side? Looks like he and Wamber have more in common that it seems.
I was SOOOO glad to see his gray V-neck wearing butt walk out da house. But I gotta tell you....where can I get me some of those capris? lol
I want to see Wamber out next week!

I was not convinced until tonight that this whole show is a farce. It's all been plotted out by the producers. Noone in their right mind in that house (with the exception of Danielle because he use the veto on her) would want Dick to stay regardless of how they felt about Dustin. He's obnoxious and must make life absolutely miserable for everyone there. From now on I'll be watching 80's reruns of Big Brother nights.

i have voted ten times to get Jessica nominated.. i know it is cruel... but i don't like ERIC and think it would test his true character.. i did think about this, and putting Jam up now is a waste, she can't win HOH, and i think nominating Amber and Jessica would be a good move, make Amber think she is a pawn and that way she is sure to leave.. ha ha ha

Eric is redeeming himself! I loved the show tonight!!! What a turn this house took. I can't believe the HOH was left with Amber and Dani on the last question. I was praying (organ music please BB) that Dani didn't choke. What a finish. Please let's give Eric a chance (I agree with HD) and not screw up the JEDD aliance. I am voting for Amber.

It's now clear America wants a tatoo, cursing, spitting, freak stuck in the seventies, or his self-absorbed, whinning, complaining, anti-social daughter to win $500,000.00.
I've never seen so many cruel remarks in all the BB message/chat rooms.
I think it is NOW time for the HG's to start getting penalized for singing, WHISLING, talking about their DR sessions etc. They've been told over and over again to STOP.
Every time they do these things, live feed goes "black". We pay for the Live feed and I'm getting tired all the down times.

I must say how happy I am that this worked out. I was very worried about the fate of Eric, especially after your sticking up for him & then saying you were voting for Dustin HD (even though I understand).
Anyway I think Amber is an excellent choice along with Jameka for nomination & Amber should be evicted :D I'M SO GLAD TO SEE EVERYONE ON THE SAME PAGE AGAIN ... YAY!

Although that might be screwed anyway when she finds out about the AP and all the lies he told her. I still want Jen to win but it doesn't look good for her. 5 votes for Jameka and 5 for Amber. Here's what I don't get... How can Amber have a 5-year-old daughter that's about to start the 3rd grade? And if she's not 5, why didn't Amber correct Julie? Something seems fishy about that.
From HD - I love you Mike. Seriously, I've been waiting for somebody to point this out. According to the feeds her daughter is now 10 years old. She mentioned her daugter being 8-9 while she was doing speed and she's only stopped doing speed in the last 3-12 months (depending on which conversation you heard). Julie says tonight that her daugher was 5. While it was probably a mistake on Julie's part, Amber then mentions her daughter was about to start the third grade.
I'm beginning to wonder if that little girl is really Amber's daughter and if she is how much time Amber's actually spent raising her. There is something obviously very fishy about this whole thing concerning Amber and this so-called daughter.

I agree with not messing with Jessica. It is fine if people don't like Eric. I personally like him and Dick, but Jess is my favorite. It really upset me to see how upset she was over Eric not talking to her just because America wanted to screw with Eric.
I voted 10 times for Amber. Get her out now and send her to sequester with Dustin. Leave Jameka for next week or the week after that. She still has three more weeks that she can't even play for head of household. The only real power she will have would be with the POV, and that could be an issue with anyone of them.

Hi HD! I've been reading your blog all season, but this is my first post this year. I loved tonight's show! I am an Eric & Jess fan, and I think this was a good move for them. I am voting for Eric to get Whamber nominated, and I was just wondering if it seemed to anyone else that maybe that is what Big Brother wants too? Julie asked her two questions tonight, one about her daughter and one about Dustin after he was evicted, and anyone who knows anything about Whamber could have predicted she would cry while trying to answer both of those. It was like they wanted to make sure that's how people thought of her when they went to vote (not that most of us don't think of her that way anyway). Even if it wasn't intentional, I think it was funny that she didn't say a single thing tonight that wasn't through tears.

Guess I should have checked in to here and other boards before putting my 10 votes in. I went with Jen fearing a Jessica, my fave, would likely be the target of votes and I hoped since Jen was the main target for so many weeks that the non-feed watchers would have her as their candidate.
My only real thoughts at this point is Daniele is in control and since so many like Evel and with deals made if they want to help Dick for now it is good to help Eric.
With all the talk of Jameka or Amber if I could take my votes back I would go with Jameka. I would prefer her out because she can't compete for H.O.H.. Yeah, until the final week it would be silly to get rid of her but I would prefer to keep the hamsters a little more on edge by getting rid of her now.
Man it was rough waiting the extra time for the west coast feed. In the end I wish it was a 3-3. I thought there was a slim chance Jen would see what was happening and force it into a tie to put more of a scope on Jessica. It really would have been interesting to see if faced with the choice if she would have followed Eric's lead or not.

its clear jessica has fallen for eric so i would never vote for her...

oh yeah btw loved that he was wearing his gray tee shirt.....only way it would have been better is if he was wearing his kings robe and had actually USED the speech he told everyone he was giving about flushing dick down the toliet.

Kudos to the producers for keeping the game interesting....now that you have righted the wrong, stop manipulating the little hamsters and let them play.
I don't believe Eric should be making cash for completing AP tasks but pimping him out to put up Jess is wrong....if you want him to really earn cash for this task, you should vote for him to have Zach put up....that would be a tough sell for Dani (she's got his back y'all) but asking him to put up Jess would be so bogus to Dani that it would ruin his BB Street Cred....and Eric is smart enough to not even go there so it would be pointless anyway.
Best case scenario is to drop kick Jameka (can't stand the incessant bible bouncing and "uh huhs") and "America's Next Top Laughingstock" (now referred as ANTL) Whamber. Once they're gone the real game is on and it will be very interesting to see which of the duos can reel in the Zack/Jen fish. I think the Dueling Donatos will hook Zach as both of them can't stand Jen and the funny part is that she will end up as the 2nd runner up.

just wanted to mention that next week will probably be the double eviction...usually the first jury member is there alone a week, then the second shows up and while they are talking surprise the 3 jury member arrives...
other than that. the show last night was great! i'm so glad the princess is gone. the only thing that would have made it better is if dustin had actually give his 'courtesy flush' speech he bragged about.
and all the stuff from wednesday seems like kind of a waste now...since they only had 4 questions. i wonder if they'll use it for pov or anything this week...
