Liveblogging - Thursday, September 13th, 2007
-:35 - Tonight is the night that we'll find out who our final two are. Who will win the final HOH tonight? Dick or Zach? Who will be going home? Who will be the two hamsters left standing at the end of the night with a chance at $500,000? Will it be Dick and Daniele? Will it be Dick and Zach? Will it be Zach and Daniele? We'll know in just a little bit. Chat is always open and waiting for you! Let's all try to have some fun tonight shall we?
:00 - Previously on Big Brother....
:02 - Quite a plunging neckline there Julie! Oh yeah, hi to you too. By the end of this hour, the most powerful HOH will be crowned. But first, we have to watch the end of the first part of the HOH competition.
:03 - Footage from 1st round on Tuesday night during the show with Julie telling them the rules.
:03 - Competition starts now. Dick in DR says the goal was for them (D/D) to win this first part. Dani in DR said that going into this competition if it had anything to do with cold water she'd be doomed. Rain starts in the competition. Dani in DR said it felt like melted snow falling on her and says she's freezing.
:04 - After 1 hour, they're all still up there. Dani shivering. Oooh. Mud bombs and some kind of exploding smoke. Elapsed time is now two hours. All still up there. Dani really shivering and Dick tells Dani to try to relax her body.
:06 - 2 hours and 20 minutes elapsed. Dani points to Dick to start going off on Zach. Dick starts his trashtalking and Zach isn't responding to him or paying attention. Dani giggles at it while shivering.
:07 - 2 hours and 47 minutes. Dick still going off on Zach. Dani really shivering and crying now. Says she's so cold. They show how the bunny is slowing down and finally gets to Daniele. Daniele is off her carrot. Dick yells that it's OK and Dani runs inside crying after grabbing what looks to be three towels. Daniele gets in shower and is crying the entire time.
:08 - Back to Dick and Zach. Zach starts laughing and pointing at Dick. Dick says he isn't leaving and to keep it on all night. Zach starts copying and making fun of Dick. Dick just looks at Zach like WTF?
09 - 4 hours and 30 minutes. Dick and Zach still up there. Daniele is back there telling her dad he's doing great and that she's got it. Vincent is watching him right now and he's extremely proud of him.
:10 - 5 hours. Daniele tells Dick that he's come this far and is doing amazing. Daniele tells Dick she loves him. 5 hours and 30 minutes. Dick tells Zach good job honestly and that this isn't easy.
:11 - 7 hours. Dick looking at Dani and basically telling her he can't go on. Dani in DR says that it sucked watching him up there so cold and hardly able to move his legs. Dick is leaning over and having a hard time standing up. Dani tells him to hang in there. Zach in the background is still going strong. Dani tells Dick that he's waited for three years for this and to go out like Kail? No.
:12 - Dick's having a very hard time now. Dani tells him that whatever happens is OK. She keeps saying it's OK. He wants to hang on but is having a very hard time. At 7 hours and 32 minutes, Dick gets off his carrot. Zach wins round 1 of the HOH competition.
:13 - Dick sits down and is trying to gather himself. Zach goes over to him and tells him 'good job'. Dani in DR says it would have been nice to sweep Zach out of the competition but she's extremely proud of him and that it's OK. Dick sitting on couch in BY and is crying like a llittle baby and smoking a cigarette. He's hobbling off to go back inside the house. Having a hard time walking.
:15 - Dick now in his bedroom and on his bed wrapped up. Dick in DR says that he didn't just let himself down but his daughter too. Dani and Dick in round room and she hugs him and tells him she loves him too. Dani reminds him of round 2 and it's OK. Zach kinda listening at the door. Zach in DR says he treats him like a drill sergeant. That he's trying to break him and all it does is build you up. He says he's managed to break Dick. (BB is certainly portraying Dick in a positive light tonight - hardly showed any of his going off on Zach and much more of his 'suffering' after the competition.)
:16 - Julie tells us we'll be finding out who wins the final HOH in the upcoming live part 3 of the competition and see who is evicted live. Commercial.
:19 - Hey Julie! Reminds us how Zach won first part of HOH competition. Now father and daughter compete in round 2. Daniele in DR says in DR that she doesn't think either one of them would be stronger in round 3 so they had decided to both give it a go.
:20 - Round 2 of HOH competition is called 'Chain of Command'. Two tanks. In tank are pieces of a puzzle. Must collect the pieces and then take them to the second tank and assemble the pieces in the correct order. The one who does it in the quickest amount of time wins and advances to round 3.
:21 - Daniele begins but she's having problems. She's having to hold her nose when she goes underwater.
:22 - Here comes Dick with a cigarette in his mouth. He begins. He's grabbing puzzles pieces and taking them over to the other tank. Dick in DR says that neither of them (D/D) had planned on throwing it. Dick isn't having much of a problem with this competition.
:24 - Zach revealing Dick and Daniele's time in the BY. Daniele's time is 24 mins and 9 seconds. Dick's time is 12 mins and 48 seconds. Dick has won the second part of the HOH competition. Zach in DR says it doesn't really matter to him which one he goes against in final competition. He's already beat him in the physical and wants to take him down in the mental part.
:25 - D/D in little bedroom. He's telling him it will be OK. Dick in DR says 'it all comes down to this'. They're going to have their fairytale ending.
:25 - Julie tells Dick and Zach congrats for winning their competitions. Daniele says that 10 weeks ago she never thought she'd have these compassionate feelings for her father but coming in here still doesn't change a lot of the things that have happened outside of the house but it's a stepping stone. Dick says that Dani giving him permission to step down from the carrot didn't really matter - his legs were just going out but she was the reason he stayed up so long. Zach said he was able to tune Dick out during the 1st part of the competition because his whole body was numb and so was his brain so he didn't hear what he had to say.
:27 - Last part of the HOH competition plays out live. Have Jessica and Eric continued their romance at the jury house? We'll find out when we return. Commercial.
:30 - We're back. When Jameka entered the jury house, the jury members discovered both Donatos were still in the house. How did they react? Jessica and Eric flirting by the pool. Jess asks when he's coming to Kansas and he says he hopes real soon. Dustin & Amber talking about J/E. Amber says they're in love.
:31 - Jameka arrives to Dustin saying he hopes Dick or Daniele arrives next. Dustin is pissed that Jameka is the one that comes next. Eric says it's no surprise to him. Dustin says that now that Jameka's here, it will be him and Amber and Jameka hanging out. Says the walls are thin in the jury house and basically they know what's going on between J/E.
:32 - They all toast Jameka in the kitchen. Now watching HOH ceremony footage and Zach's speech. They're all giving props to Zach. Dustin says Dick's losing it (about Dick's reaction during the ceremony).
:33 - When we return, will Zach or Dick become the final HOH? Who will be the final two? Stay with us. Commercial.
:36 - Welcome back. In just a few moments, the final round of the HOH competition will play out live. The winner will have to evict somebody on the spot.
:37 - Zach and Dick sitting on either side of a divider in front of Julie's screen. Daniele is sitting at the kitchen table listening (can't see).
:37 - Julie will read the beginnings of statements made by each of the 6 members of the BB jury while they were at the jury. For each, she will give them two choices of possible endings. The answer will be either A or B. They have to decide how the juror finished the question. For each correct answer, they'll get a point. The houseguest with the most points at the end of 6 questions will become the final HOH.
:39 - 1 - Amber said 'the moment that irritated me the most in the house was A when Jen cried about her picture or B being handcuffed to Kail. Dick chooses A. Zach chooses B. Amber said it was when Jen cried. Dick has one point.
:39 - 2 - Jen said the strongest competitor in the house was A Daniele or B myself. Zach decides A and so does Dick. Jen says her strongest competitor was herself. Both wrong.
:40 - 3 - Jameka said the fatal error she made in the house was A saving Jen with the veto or B not looking out for herself earlier. Both choose B. Jameka says it was not looking out for herself earlier. Both right. Dick in the lead with 2 points.
:40 - 4 - Dustin said the most shocking moment in the house was when A I was evicted or B Amber went off on Eric. Both choose A. Dustin said shocking moment was when Amber went off on Eric. Both wrong.
:41 - 5 - Eric said the funniest moment in the house this summer was A when Jameka told Dick that his momma was a bitch or B when Jen said I will now perform eating. Dick asks Julie to repeat. Both choose A. Eric siad it was A. Both correct. Dick with 3 points and Zach with 2.
:42 - 6 - Jessica said the person whose gameplay I respected most was A my own or B Eric's. Both choose B. Jessica says it was her own. Both wrong. But Dick is the final HOH.
:43 - Daniele erupts into screams of jubilation. Dick and Daniele run and hug each other. He hugs her and is yelling 'We won!!!' "Yes, yes yes!" Dick punches the divider. Zach congratulates him. Dick is still yelling they won. Dick's yelling, "We won! We won everything!" Commercial.
:45 - JC welcomes us back. Time for Dick to evict as the final HOH. Zach says that he doesn't expect Dick to use this. He lost to the best. Hopefully when they win all this cash in the long run they'll remember his inventions. Daniele says who would have thought they'd have worked so well together. Says she doesn't think she'd be there without him and would be honored to sit next to him in the final two.
:46 - Dick stands votes to evict Zach. Dick tells Zach he's out. Dick yells at Dani that it's official they won. Zach says he doesn't agree with their methods but they're there. Zach walks off to leave. D/D and don't follow him to front door. Daniele says, 'Bye Rogre'. Dick and Daniele celebrating in the kitchen. Dick dancing around like a crazy man.
:47 - Zach hugs Julie and has a seat. Dick and Daniele still celebrating in the kitchen. He's screaming that it doesn't even matter who wins now. Dani asks how he got the Jen question wrong. Blah blah blah.
:48 - JC asks Zach what some of his biggest game moves were. He says when the alliance fell apart in week 2 he had to lay low and when Nick left the house he knew he could get closer with Daniele and lay low but knew that after Nick left he could get more interactive with people. When that didn't happen, he knew he had to rely on himself. JC asks him about early in the game how he was buddies with D/D. and how he really feels. Zach says he went up against the best players in the game - Daniele won 7 things and he won 3. Dick's tactics were horrible and humiliated many players in the game but they didn't work against him but his tactics worked against others. He thinks they're both good people but outside of the house he thinks they can all be good friends eventually and who knows what the future holds.
:50 - JC asks him about his HOH last week and breaking his alliance and how POV is the only thing that mattered so why did he choose to make waves then. He says he never really aligned with D/D and there was nothing official. Knew that he didn't know if he had possible votes on the jury. Wanted to give Jameka her chance and buy a vote or win a vote in the end game giving him a chance at 4.
:52 - Dani tells Zach that it's been a roller coaster summer for them - hating him then liking him and then who knows. Things he said in the last week that hurt her feelings but it's a game and she's not taking it personal. It's all game. Dick tells Zach that he put up a helluva fight. Dick tells him as far as being master strategizer he'll see how far off base he really was. Says he did a great job though.
:53 - Zach said he didn't expect that kind of response from him and kinda gives him little tears. Nice to know they're both game players and it's nothing personal. JC tells him he'll be back on Tuesday from the jury house. Back to inside with Dick making fun of somebody. Commercial.
:55 - Julie tells us about Eric on the jury but still working for us as America's Player. Who do we want him to CAMPAIGN to WIN? Text to 81818 - 1 for Daniele to win or Dick to win. Also can vote online HERE for free. Votes accepted until 11:00 PM Eastern/8:00 PM Pacific Saturday September 15th.
:57 - On Sunday at 8:00 PM Easter/7:00 Central, Dick and Daniele share their thoughts on what has been one of the most emotionally volatile summers ever in the BB house. Season finale then on Tuesday, September 18th, at 9:00 PM ET/8:00 PM CT. Plus they'll reunite with the first five evictees. Then it will be time to reveal to the houseguests the big twist of BB8 that none of them figured out (AP player). Reminder of After Dark.
:58 - Dick and Daniele making fun of the 'line in the sand' comment. Dick says they're the best team ever in the history of Big Brother. Best team ever to have played the game.
:59 - I'm going to go puke now. Show's over.

I hate Daniele but I do feel sorry for her watching her shake like that. When I read the updates, I thought she had just been crying because she lost and she was being a sore sport but now I think it was just a reaction to the cold water.
I haven't felt sympathy for her since the first episode when she went to the bathroom crying after Dick was revealed.

Also, great to see more jury house footage. I cracked up when Dustin said how "we may all be sleeping, but some of us are also waking up." Good to see they've finally realized that Jess & Eric are more then "just friends." It took them longer then it should have to figure it out.

I don't usually post but I just have to make a comment about that competition tonight. The third hoh competition had just too much luck involved to be the deciding factor. Zach endured 71/2 hours to win the first, even Dick's second comp had skill involved. This third comp was just who could guess the best. I turned the TV off as soon as it was over, I was so disappointed.
Zach's endurance competition should be enough right there to win hoh. This is another example of how the Big Brother producers have warped and meddled too much in what should be a good show.
I hope CBS America Vote for a second $500,000 winner. Otherwise the only reason to watch anymore of Big Brother this year, TV or live feeds, is to see the reaction of the reveal of America's Player.
Good night Big Brother 8, I hope Big Brother 9 is done better. Bring on "Kids Nation."

I like Dick and he was hardcore with his play. Some people forgot the game is hardcore and that they asked to play BB but then whine about Dick�s tactics. Boo! Hoo!
The best thing with Dick (& Dani) going to the final two is everybody wanted them out but didn�t get the job done. Almost each and every time the HOH knew (or thought they knew) a way to better themselves in the game and they let the Danatos make it another week. However it caught up with each of them in the end and they ended up being evicted and a Danato will win #1 and #2!
Personally, I never really liked anyone in the house besides Dick and really never let his relationship with Dani play into my decision. The decision of his game play never changed even when it looked like he was going to be evicted because of it. He never went around with his tail between his legs. He does deserve the big prize and I hope he gets it.
As for people not watching BB anymore; so be it. This isn�t Candyland and no warm and fuzzy feeling was promised. Deal with it or go home.

BB8 made me cry - but not because Dick and Danielle won - because Danielle told her father that she loves him - twice!
I got a bit teary over that.
And I don't think he is a bad guy - it was just his over-the-top strategy and it worked!

I could not be happier with this show. I have had Daniele picked to win since the beginning. I know the majority of you here don't like them but I think they have both played the game well, even if Dick is very harsh. He has made this season so interesting and I would have probably lost interest several weeks ago if it weren't for him.

What a finish! Zach should be proud of his accomplishment of final 3. No one else had the guts to stand up to the Donatos.
I don't care who is first/second...it really doesn't matter. What I can't wait for is when Eric reveals he is America's player!!

Unfortunately, Zach's biggest mistake, which would have presented a completely different outcome of this game, was refusing to use the Veto last week. Had he done that, Danielle would have gone up, gone home, and who really knows who would won this game. The competitions would have been played on a more even field, and best of all, D and/or D would definitely had NOT won! But guess we'll never know who COULD have (or should have) won BB8.
All I know is that once again, we're left with 2 of the most disliked players of the season as the final two. I really think CBS/the Producers need to do something before viewers walk away completely from BB.
As it is, viewers drop off as we get closer to the end, and the ratings for the finale are never as high as they were earlier in the season.

I am sick ... Dick is such a dick ... he can rant and rave and ruin people's lives and he still wins! Big Brother 8 is over ... who needs to watch anymore! All we heard all summer is Danielle say how she hated everyone in the house and now we get to watch her suck up to get votes. I hope it all goes to her convited wife abuser father so he can spend in on liquor and cigarettes ... and I hope he doles it out to her only if she keeps the relationship going ... which she won't do if she gets the money. She is a tramp .. that was one thing Jen was right about! Zach, Zach, Zach ... you missed the chance to get one of them out sooner ... Oh well, I guess I'll have to find another reality show because CBS I AM THROUGH WITH THIS MESS FOREVER!!!

I am thrilled the Donato's won!!!! what is wrong with all of you Zack lovers ??? He was a strange guy right from the get go, a SHEEP ... Please think about it it was a game he did not play the game!!! The Donato's played the game from day 1 !!! Good for them !!!

I was torn between Dick & Zach, but I was very happy to see Dick win! I cried when he stepped off and when Dani told him she loved him. I really hope she meant that!! Dick has the worst mouth in the world, but he also has a very big heart for his family. I am voting for Dick over Dani.

HD~ Thank you so much for your minute by minute plays!! We were hit w/Hurricane Humberto last night, and I haven't had cable all day so I wasn't able to watch the most important BB show tonight. But thanks to your blog, I felt like i did watch it. I am disappointed that Zach didn't win, but I would rather Dick win over Daniele.

Yes, very frightening how he crept up on us. I just found out late afternoon that there was a Tropical Storm. Just 2 mornings ago, we were hit w/Tropical Depression #9. I don't think our ground will ever dry out. LOL Humberto was pretty scary w/all the howling winds. I can't imagine anything higher than a Cat 1. Just hard to believe we've been hit twice in 2 yrs.

HD sorry the one you wanted did not win final two. The 3 I wanted, made it to the final three. I wanted Dani and Zack in the final two. Alot of you did not like Dani her age she still young needs to grow up more but she did play a good game. I like Zack but he needed to step up more before he did. Dick I like at times but did not like how he cut people down like he did. I am ok with Dick and Dani making to the final two. In a way I want Dani to win. Because how Dick talk to people in the house. I do not want next year someone to talk like that to people in the house.So id Dani wins ove Dick maybe people will not act like he did. I think all three did a good job.

Too sad that even once all is revealed they will still take credit where credit is NOT due.
Watching this episode is like having the flu.
Will not watch the finale...except last twenty.

I am really let down by this season. I did not enjoy Dick's rantings at all. The level he took it to was unacceptable. Whatever...D & D both won. After all...they kept saying that they are the only "team" to win. Guess we know that they weren't truly surprised to both be in the BB House after all, huh? I guess I am more let down by CBS. I really hope that next season they get rid of the "twists". No more people that know each other!!! Please! Let's see strangers battle it out again.

Everyone has to admit this year was a great season, and ED was a large part what made it compelling.
I got teary when ED lost round 2 and Dani comforted him, it was a touching moment.I think Dani will win BB8.
Zach shook it up pretty good and played harder at the end than most of the losers in the jury house did all season.
Yea! We get to screw with Weasel Boy a final time. I voted for ED 10 times on each of our three cell phones. Ha!

ED or Danielle?? That's tough one for sure. The way I see it no matter how they did it the fact is they are the last 2 standing so they outplayed everyone. So how can they NOT deserve it?? It doesn't matter if you like them or not. Everyone forgets that they are edited to be portrayed the way CBS wants them to be. It doesn't mean they are that way in real life.( At least I hope not ). They did what they had to do and they won. Anyway if Dick wins , I wonder if he will give his daughter a chunk of the money?? Wasn't their fight supposedly about money, the reason they hadn't spoken in 2 years?? I could picture either one of them blowing the money in no time. And Danielle ....will she share it with her father if she wins.....Love to know.......!!

So now I am resigned to choosing the lesser of the two d's. this is the most painful thing for the jury members, I am sure...they should just line up and take turns kicking each other for caving to Dick's tyrants and ignoring the biggest threat in any type of reality game: tight alliances.
Dick gets my props for exploiting the weaknesses of the HGs one by one to his own game advantage...he did so in some rather brutal ways, but nonetheless it worked. On everyone. Except for Zach. Zach's eye has been on the prize all along, for that even the D & d fans should acknowledge, the guy had clariy about the game. He was just not strong enough to get the D's out alone. This is why he should have stepped up earlier, or at the very least kept Eric to help muscle out the D's. But alas, a better F2 was not to be.
So, I resign to knowing that the winner is simply in name only-the money division matters none. If there has to be someone that will be referred to as a winner of BB, besides the puppetmasters of BB, it should be Dani who outplayed her dad both physically and mentally. She was even usinghimduring the 3 HOH comps, knowing that he was silly putty in her hands and she can continue to guilt him into play her game. She lands on top, because Daddy will not campaign for the money against her.
Dick should be berated for his behaviour and not allowed by any account a pass for his rants and derrogatory, misogenystic references. I would implore Jen to consult with an attorney regarding Dick's assault(s), and BB's consent to the well documented maltreatment. At some point, women are going to have to take a stand against abuse and know manhood is not proven by treating us as secondary citizens. the fact that so many women find Dick, along with his antics appealing sends a sorrowful message to those that might not interpret it as all gameplay. Jen has an opportunity be a an advocate for change even in the BB8 house.
Dani said she would go back to college if she won, so I hope that through education, she can learn more about herself and the world around her, redeeming her humanness to be a much more adjusted member of our society. again, this F2 should not be looked at as an insult to the game, but an opportunity for growth for the chaotic Donato family.

I have to say.... this was a close one... however it is what it is... and the Donato's are just all that.... they played wickedly GREAT!! I personally am EXCITED that they won.... I just wonder how the other house mates are going to vote? they hate them both.... so it is LITERALLY the lesser of the 2 "EVELS"....
HD you have done an AMAZING job keeping this site up and keeping us all informed!!! I have become so addicted to this site.... are you going to do it next season?? I look forward to finding out!!

Say it isn't soooooo. I am heartsick that the D/D's betwen the two are going to rack in $550,000! I just hope they neglect to pay their taxes and wind up with Richard Hatch from Survivor first season - he's in JAIL! Now there's a reality show I wouldnt mind paying for the feeds! Can you imagine Dick calling BUBBA a panty eating pervert! I dream can't I....

The only reason Im gonna watch the last show is for the AP aspect....Unfortunately I dont think the jury is going to be that tuff on them...the jury's never are on these shows they always talk tuff & then usually always disappoint me on the final show. If Sundays show is only going to be those 2 gloating & patting themselves on the back I am not watching Sundays show. The only thing I want to see is Zach going to the house & the reaction to that 1st comp! They had better be allowed to see the WHOLE thing!

This is the worse BB season ever. I know it's a game, but I can't believe Dick's behavior deserves a huge financial reward. And, I'll never believe that Dick and Daniele were 'estranged'.

YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! My votes will go for Dick. I am routing for Dick to win it all! He has prevailed in all 3 final comps; two of which were physical. He nearly lasted 8 hours in horrible conditions, (over a strapping young man), beat out Dani in the underwater comp. and did his job in the Q&A session. He deserves to win it all!
If I just won two comps in a row, became HOH and have the power, anyone would be unable to control themselves. For those hamsters who don't like D&D, of course, they can do nothing right in your eyes. At least the floaters didn't win!
The jury house will only speak to Zach to catch up with what happened, after that, he will be on his own as he was the whole game. It is unfortunate people in the house judged him by the way he looks; I think he is actually a nice guy. I am also sure that he was picked on as a kid due to his size; it would be nice if his girlfriend is there for him after the show.
If Dani wins, I am not sure she will be as generous to share half with Dick. She could go either way. He deserves to win it all and I know he will share it with her; she will appreciate it at first but will forget about him shortly thereafter. That is a sad thing; everything he did was for her and she doesn't get it; perhaps she will once she sees the feeds. Why can't she go on this trip with him? She said she wouldn't go awhile back. It would mean so much to him but then again, that doesn't matter to her. She is a selfish person although I do like her.
So to the jury, Vote Dick Winner.
For those who are so distraught about the outcome and say they aren't coming back next year; that is a crock! Once a BB Fan, always a BB Fan! We never can get enough even when we get pissed off.
Can't wait for next summer already; wish it was on twice a year! It certainly would warm up the winter's for those of you who live in cold climates!
